    Local building solutions provider is looking for a qualified Production Manager with a full breadth of design, drafting and managerial/logistical skills.

    Located at an advanced manufacturing facility in Surrey, this young company is using state of the art design and manufacturing technology to maximize productivity and efficiency and put it firmly on the leading edge of the light gauge steel construction industry serving the vibrant lower mainland.

    Deploying world class, advanced end-to-end cold-formed steel (CFS) building design and construction technology, this operation designs, assembles and installs light gauge steel wall panels, floor joists and roof structures for installation in a wide variety of residential and commercial projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Managing the production of all prefabricated Light Gauge Steel products built, assembled, and constructed in the pre-fabrication facility and on construction site for effective and successful installation of our projects. Products vary from commercial buildings, residential buildings, low rise condominiums etc.
    • Planning work production and manpower to ensure the most effective and efficient methods are used, manage shop workers in safe work practices, job productivity with coaching and mentoring
    • Follow, study, and when necessary, implement latest industry innovations in pre-fabrication,
    • Lead, manage, supervise, cross train shop talent, preparing each for future roles in the firm.
    • Work with estimating in preparation of shop budget and meet or beat man-hour budget, collaborate with members of the project team (president, estimators detailers, project managers, site super, etc.) during pre-construction, planning and construction phases,
    • Visit job sites to ensure product quality and accuracy, resolve field conditions / fit issues and resolve any potential conflicts in pre-fabrication design and construction,
    • Work with drawing office, project management and site in sequencing, logistics and delivery,
    • Promote an environment of continuous improvement thru proactive process improvement,
    • Keep and maintain records and lists of operations and order inventory when required, stay on top of shop / site schedule and plan materials and resources as required. 

    Job Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years industry experience and an ability to read and interpret blue- print drawings is required.
    • Light gauge steel work experience within the construction industry preferred.
    • Completion of High School or GED along with post-secondary education
    • Current certification in WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid Level 2, and Forklift.
    • Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a must.
    • Ability to coordinate and work effectively in a team setting with all levels of employees and clients to achieve results.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Detail oriented, accurate, organized and disciplined in your approach and delivery.
    • Energetic, enthusiastic, and capable of working semi-autonomously with a commitment to integrity, honesty, and a passion for your work.
